7/19/03 - The Attic - Six months off, I was expecting these guys to show a little rust on the gears of a great live show. Well, I was wrong, despite a few technical problems it seemed like Doug Says Hi oh wait...I'm sorry Oh Beautiful Cliche rocked like they'd been gone six weeks. Abandoning the punk flavors of their old style to bring in Weezer with a 70's metalish influence and a touch of 80's hair metal. These guys pulled out all the stops and went full throttle all night. The cover of Mrs.Robinson was good but seemed to be lacking in verses, however they more than made up for that with the next 1/2 hour where I along with everyone else was reminded of when hard rock was good and not bands trying to sound like Pearl Jam or scream about an exagerated childhood. I'm glad these guys are back they are a great band and a lot of fun, the scene wasn't the same without them.
